My Early Monday

I woke up about 4:45 a.m. (which is actually normal) got the hubby's lunch made and sent him off to work. I started right in on my plan for the day!
Started making Pantry cakes.....
Recipe is from Tina @ Tattered Sisters (TFS)
I had them made, baked and out of the oven before 8:00 a.m.

Cleaned up all the mess, did the dishes and moved onto the next project.
A Recipe From Libby @ Rusty Shed Prims
and From Fresh Baked Refills. (TFS)
Cooked Sugar Molds
First Batch, I used a little Blackstrap molasses to darken as mentioned on the freshbakedrefills site.
All cooked, in the molds cooling and the mess cleaned up by 9 :00 a.m.
My BFF called and asked me to go to the grocery store with, I did.
I purchased carrots to try drying and one artichoke to try drying.
I wanted pomegranates and gourds.....NO LUCK!
So excited to get home to check my cooled pantry cakes!
OH NO!!!!!!
First Batch, A FLOP!!!! and it had nothing to do with the bunny ears, LOL!
They were stuck in the molds, had to pry them out with a knife! NOT EASY!
Libby stated in her Tut that too wet would be hard to get out of the molds, also could be the molasses!
I won't do that again!
But I have not given up on the recipe!
Try Again!
Second Batch, Easy out of the Molds, but too Dry!
One More Time.....
Third Times A CHARM!!!!

I used 4 Cups Light Brown Sugar, 1/4 + 2 TBSP water, 1/2 tsp Ground Cloves.
Onto the next project, a recipe from Colleen @ and Baby Makes Five (TFS)
Salt Dough Ornies
I followed the recipe exactly!
So far, so Good!!!!
My Son (Kris) needed me to help him file his taxes,
( another of my things to do at this time of year, taxes for the whole family!)
so I recruited my Youngest daughter (Ronica) and my son's Fiance (Sammi Jo)..
Look how cute they are with their heads tipped, and my son texting for his Fiance because she had paint on her fingers!
LOL, Ain't love grand????
Kris' taxes are E-Filed!!!
Well, That is as far as I got today, Here are the Ornies now.

All painted, Thanks Girls!
Waiting to be sanded and grubbied up!!!
In the mail today, I received something I ordered from Cathy @ The Finicky Feline

Don't ya just love it?
And she even sent me the candle mat as a gift!!!!!!!
How sweet was that?
Thanks Cathy!!!!!

It was surely a struggle, but worth every bit of pain in the palm of my hands!
Two coats of spray paint...rust colored primer and a textured paint.

added a rusty wire for finger handle.....
My ShooFly Screen!
Not too bad for a dollar store find!
Now, onto today's next project,
This tutorial came from Kerri @ The Calico Rabbit (TFS)
After Sanding....
After painting and sanding again....
Found a temporary home for the Pantry Cake Paddle....

Well, the original plan today was to make my Bowl Rack.
I did start the planning process.
I have all the measurements and the full layout of the Rack.

I do not have the exact boards I want to use.
Guess that means a SHOPPING TRIP!

Satisfying Saturday

Hey All,
I got up full of energy today!
Planned on building a bowl rack, but other ideas were rolling around in my head while I was sleeping.
I started with some housework......then saw an item I had picked up at a thrift store for $1.99
So, I began sanding......
After a while, another design appeared....
So, I Sanded some more......

Then did a little staining and buffing!
Here is the completed project!

Well, after that was complete I jumped to the next idea!!!!
Grabbed up some goodies....
I got so busy, I forgot to take pictures......NOT!!!
Here it is....start to finish in only a couple hours!
(Remember....I can't wait for nuttin', gotta have it now!!!)

Well....still more time before I have to cook for the flock!
Oh, I had to find a home for the Black shelf I repurposed the other day which started out green with heart cutouts. I wanted to use it as a bowl rack, but it just was not big enough for the bowls I have.
So, this is what I did....

I added a little rusty wire across the front of each shelf and found it a home!

I also spray painted the lids of the jars with Rustoleum Texture paint. Some of them were yellow with writing on them.
Then I had to COOK!!!!!!
Fun time is over 'til tomorrow. Still planning the Bowl Rack! We'll see!

Some photos shown in this post may not be suitable for some folks, especially those weak in the tummy and those who are scaredy cats!!!!!!
This is how most get to see me, especially on the internet.....
But after a day of designing, figuring, measuring, cutting, glueing, nailing, sanding, painting, sanding again, and staining a project that I just had to have TODAY!
(I am not a patient person, can't wait for Nuttin!)
This is what my poor FurBaby Yorkies see.....
I KNOW, I KNOW!!!!!!
But it was worth all that stress!
I began with a pile of wood and a BRIGHT IDEA!
Started with a few tools, but had to kick out with the BIG BOYS in the Barn (NO PICS OF THAT)
Then I started to see some progress.....

Now for the Fun Stuff, all Sanded and  then painting...
Starting to look like my bright idea is gonna work!
Adding more paint....
Sand Again and Stain....
Rub stain til soft, aged effect is achieved....

Finished !!!!!!!
Was it worth it?????
OH YEAH!!!!!
